Mom Arrested with Treesitters For Immediate Release - Contact: Naomi Wagner-707-629-3546 Two Tree Sitters Escape Arrest Resistance continues. Three treesitters named Sorrel, Wallaby and Jungle were removed today from an old growth tree called Marvelous as Maxxam/PL continued its assault on the watershed. Screams were heard coming from the canopy as company climbers forcibly extracted the sitters from their one hundred foot high perches. As the sitters were lowered to the ground, two freed themselves and melted into the forest. Sheriff's deputies were unable to find them. "It's been a very intense day," said Sparrow, a local activist who witnessed the day's activity. "It took them all day to extract the sitters and then they cut the tree. There are a lot of very broken hearted people here today." Caroline, the mother of a local tree sitter, Amanita, was arrested as she stood with a crowd of thirty other supporters on the ground. Maxxam/PL's chief of security, Carl Anderson, gave an order to move back from the road and made the citizen's arrest when Caroline did not move quickly enough. Her daughter was removed from her thousand year old tree two days ago on Greenwood Heights Road and her tree was cut immediately by Maxxam/PL fellers. ![]() << Back to Press Release Archive | Latest Press Release | Newsroom ![]() | ![]()
