Events at the threatened OAK GROVE

EVERY WEDNESDAY at the oak grove in Berkeley at 5 pm:
Academic walks with Ignacio Chapelle: WALK, TALK, BUCK THE FENCE:

Fascinating walks to learn what's at stake in Berkeley's Strawberry Canyon. With expert guests, the walks explore the perimeter of the wildscapes threatened by UCB's plans, including their plans to level the heritage oak grove where tree-sits have been going on since Dec.
2.

EVERY SUNDAY at 2 pm at the oak grove: SALON IN THE GROVE

The Salon offers a place to discuss the meaning and implications of the tree-sit protest to save the oaks. Guests and tree-sitters will participate in games, discussions of lessons learned from tree-sitters and the trees themselves. In the first Salon (Feb. 25), hear STORIES FROM THE TREE-SITTERS about what it has been like for them; led by Laura Brown, Ph.D, who will put the stories of tree-sitters in the context of Mataformic Theory, and Jean Mudge, Ph.D who will bring tree stories from Emerson and Thoreau. Info: lkaybrown@hotmail.com, jeanmudge@comcast.net or 548-3609, 548-7268.

The OAK GROVE is located on Piedmont Avenue just north of Bancroft Way and the International House. There are currently SIX TREE-SITTERS in the trees and there are always support people on the ground. You are invited to DROP BY any time.

Urgent Support needed for the on-going tree-sit right now includes
